Sir Charles Dunstone and his wife have submitted plans for their £20 million London mansion to gain a basement below the back garden which will give them a playroom for the children, a wine cellar, storage and showers.
Plans have been submitted to Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council for the excavation of the basement. This has not gone down well with their already disgruntled neighbours who have have had to live through all that comes with a neighbour having extensive building works when they built on land they own behind their London mansion.
The new basement is thought to be connected to the building at behind the mansion and take approximately 14 months to complete. Public consultation for the works has finished and a planning decision is expected in early March.
Ongoing building works, with delays and noise and dirt are a sure way to upset your neighbours and then submitting more plans for more works will never go down well.
Getting your neighbours on your side from the very start is a must if you are planning a build programme of months, maybe years.
